PARISH COUNCIL NEWS
Tree devastation in Monmouth Road Once again Network Rail have made a mess! The trees at the end of Monmouth Road were removed unnecessarily by mistake and without notifying either the Parish Council or North Somerset. The Parish Council immediately contacted North Somerset who are going to insist that replacement trees and shrubs are provided either by Network Rail or their contractors.
Access to Gordano Services The Parish Council has been approached by a resident to ask if pedestrian access to the Services can be improved from the adjacent bus stop. This small area is actually in Portbury Parish. Representatives from both Councils met on site and discussed whether to approach the appropriate authorities to suggest how this might be done. However, it was agreed to try to find out first just how many people this affects. Could anyone who would benefit from a paved path being provided please contact Julie Smart, the Parish Clerk, at the PC office as soon as possible.
Gas and water repairs The Council is aware how much inconvenience is being caused by all the work being carried out over the past few months, which is still ongoing. Unfortunately the work involves essential repairs, but the Parish Clerk has obtained an outline of the schedule and timetable for the work in the various locations if anyone would like more information.
Parish Council Vacancies A number of people have expressed an interest in being co-opted on to the Council. A decision on how to fill the two vacancies will be made at the September Council meeting. |
